Save the Fire Pits!

In a recent effort to save the San Diego beach fire pits, musician Jason Mraz has teamed up with the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, along with local officials to help preserve the majesty that is sitting around a fire pit on the beach and hanging with friends. After all, it gets chilly at night on the coast, so what better way to warm up than fireside on a beach....

The mayor of San Diego is trying to eliminate the $150,000 cost it takes to maintain San Diegos fire pits each year with the prospective $57 million deficit at hand. Locals feel that fire pits "exemplify the San Diego beach experience," and fire pits have been heavily featured in local advertising campaigns to save the money allocated to maintain the fire pits.

If you love fire pits and the beach as much as we do, please contact your local San Diego council people and do what you can to help save the fire pits.

Jason Mraz (above), yeah the guy in between the two hot chicks, go figure, endorses saving the fire pits.
